Fellowship Night - July 27th

I wanted to let you know about our Fellowship Night scheduled for tomorrow night at 7pm! We are doing something a little different!!

First of all instead of meeting at someone's house, we are meeting at Harveston Lake. The evenings have been so beautiful we thought we would enjoy the fresh air outside! Instead of having coffee served, it will be a BYOC (Bring your own coffee :) evening!! Also, bring a chair and maybe a little blanket in case it cools down when the sun is setting.

We will be meeting over by the kids park, right by the water. The best address to use if you google map it is:
40138 Balboa Dr, Temecula, CA

Second thing that is different is the theme for the night. I don't know about you, but this summer series has made me feel more of a sense of urgency to make sure that we are following God's plan for us... to be sharing the "Good News". I've recently been faced with opportunities to share what Jesus did for us and honestly, I felt a small sense of nervousness inside, I wasn't sure if I was relaying the message the easiest way! I was recently asked, "What must I believe in order to be saved?", and I realized afterwards I think I complicated it more than I needed to... so those conversations have led us to the theme of the night!

How can we easily share the "Good News" and how can I lead someone to Christ (pray with them).

I want us to be able to make him fearlessly known!!! So, here is an opportunity for us to ask questions and learn a lot! I hope you will come whether you have questions or not! Maybe you have this message down pat, then please come and share how you do it!! Let's help one another out! Pastor Steven will be here to answer any of the questions we have!

Also, this is a perfect opportunity for you to invite a friend who has their own questions. Maybe you are unsure of the answers to some of their questions (believe me, that's where this all started :) Let's use our resources and help each other out!

Remember... we have ONE LIFE! Let's make this Life count!!!

God Bless!!
Lisa

Tatango Texts!

Hi Ladies! I stumbled upon this program, Tatango, that our youth set up! I thought I'd try it too! I know not everyone gets on their email all the time, or doesn't check the blog often enought, so I thought this might be a neat way to send reminders! If you click on the phone in the image to your left, it will take you to a link to join Tatango - REAL Women group. It's free! It's easy! Then all I have to do is send a message through Tatango and you'll get it on your phone! Please join if you like receiving text message reminders! I won't use it all the time, just for last minute reminders - like Coffee Night is tonight! (Not really - it's April 20th!)

REAL Women Love Fellowship

Save the date ladies, April 20th is our next get together! Robin Unland is hosting a get together at her home on Monday night at 7pm in Redhawk. I'll post directions as the night draws closer! This will be a night to just hang out and make some friends! A night of fellowship, a night of outreach! We have invited a wonderful woman from www.ChristianMentors.org who will be coming to tell us a little bit about their organization! Then we'll just sit back, relax, have a cup of coffee or tea and a dessert (or two) and just visit with each other. Let's use this opportunity to meet some new ladies who have just started attending LifeChurch. Invite a friend to join us too! It will be a relaxed atmosphere, just a time for us to fellowship and break bread together! I hope you will make it. Stop by the Connecting Life counter or leave a comment to RSVP! It always helps to know how many of you wonderful ladies are coming!!!
Hope to see you on the 20th!!

Mailer Party Tonight!

Our mission - to reach out to women in the valley, bringing them closer to christ........ let's do our part tonight in reaching this mission. Many hands lighten the load, and we could use your hands this evening. Tonight at 6:30, we are preparing a 60,000 piece mailer to invite our neighbors in this community to LifeChurch for Easter. It's a very simple project, mostly counting and stacking! If you can come by, even for a little while, we would appreciate your help!

I'm planning on bringing Jakob and Maddie to the Bushido, Tae Kwon Do class for the first time. They can have fun, get a little exercise, so I can work!

I'd love to hang out with you tonight! Please join me!!!

Love,
Lisa

Been too long!

Hi Ladies! I apologize that this blog hasn't been updated in so long. I think I crashed and burned for a little bit after all the work that went into the kickoff. Then I went on vacation for Spring Break and stayed away from my laptop as long as possible!! But, that's no excuse for letting you down!!! So, I hope to be much better moving forward here!! Thanks for your grace!! I love you ladies!

Amazing Success!!!

Last night's Kickoff was a huge success! How did I measure that success? By the number of smiles that left the sanctuary! 60 women took the night away from their families to find out what God had in store for our Women's Ministry! I don't know about you but I have been encouraged and inspired by those that took a step out in faith for God last night. Thank you to each and everyone one of you who stepped up on that stage and stood on that ledge for Jesus! My sister Heather couldn't have said it better! For some of you that step was just showing up when you were nervous to go, for others it was a bigger step in taking on a leadership role. For all of us, we know that God is walking the path with us, we are never alone! Praise Him for loving us that much!!

It is unbelievable to see the work he has been doing in so many of our women. I was thrilled to see the number of women sign up to get involved in our outreach programs, kudos to Kim and Jo for such an amazing presentation! I hope there was something there for everyone last night! I already can tell there has been a major shift in what God wants this ministry to look like this year and I'm honored to be able to lead and encourage our leaders to take it in that direction!

We have an amazing year planned for us and I look forward to the journey we are beginning together! I look forward to seeing many new friends at church this weekend! I'll be wearing my new shirt - if you picked one up, I'm encouraging you to wear yours!

I'm so loving our R.E.A.L. Women of LifeChurch! God Bless you all!!!

Answered Prayers

I have been praying for a Prayer Ministry Leader for our Women's Ministry and asked others to join me in this prayer. I've asked God to bring me a Godly woman, one who has leadership skills, who is a good organizer but most important loves to pray! Last night I had the wonderful opportunity to go over the SHAPE profile with a beautiful woman who I didn't really know. I have to tell you, her SHAPE profile met the job description for the prayer leader to the T!

When we share our needs with others, and they are also seeking God's will to fulfill the need, it is amazing what can happen! I knew that God would seek her out, would place on her heart a desire to get involved with women's ministry and he used another woman in our church to seek her out.

At our last leadership meeting, I shared with the ladies my desire to find a woman after God's own heart, one who would be the perfect person to leader our Prayer Ministry. Kelly spoke up about a woman in her LifeGroup who had just recently told her that God had placed on her heart to be praying for the women in our church. I contacted her and asked her to fill out her SHAPE profile and then we would get together.

Last night Janet Waters came over and we spent 3 hours getting to know each other and review her SHAPE profile. We talked about the women's ministry and the need for prayer and praise for our ladies. This position was perfectly made for Janet. She shared with me how she had recently went up to the altar at church and asked God to "use" her. She how know idea how he would, or when he would, but she knew he would! We both agree that we now know how God inteded to use her, God brought her to this place and she is so excited to be getting involved with Women's Ministry. Janet humbly and with great excitement accepted the role as our new Prayer and Praise Leader for Women's Ministry.

Will you join me in prayer for this beautiful woman, ask God to grant her the wisdom, discernment, energy, and enthusiasm throughout this journey?

Janet will be standing by the lamp on most Sundays after the 11am service, if you need prayer, please go introduce yourself and meet Janet. If you have any prayer requests, please email them to women@getlife.tv until we have an email account set up for her.

God Bless our Heavenly Father! Praise Him for His desires to fulfill all our needs. Amen!

The Note - Book Club Selections

Last night the book club selected their next book. It's called The Note by Angela Hunt.

Here's a brief synopsis found on Amazon about the book.
When the unthinkable happens...En route from New York's LaGuardia Airport to Tampa International, Flight 848 bursts into flames and crashes into Tampa Bay. For one week, newspaper columnist Peyton MacGruder and her fellow reporters cover one of the nation's worst air disasters in years with overwhelming and numbed emotions.
Then a woman Peyton's never met gives her a plastic bag that has washed up behind her house. The bag contains a note, almost certainly from the doomed flight, with a simple yet wrenching message: T- I love you. All is forgiven. -Dad
Combing through the passenger list to find the victims whose children's names begin with T, Peyton is determined to deliver the note to its proper owner. A quest which will prove as important to Peyton's own life as to the mysterious T.

The next meeting of the book club is April 6th at 7pm at Brenda Oruno's home. Any questions about the book club please contact Kristen Coblentz - borsirk@verizon.net

Someting to think about...

'To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.' When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better. Concentrate on this sentence...
'The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.'

Thanks for sharing Christa!

Overwhelmed with answered prayers!

I just have to share with you how completely overwhelmed I am with pure excitement for our women's ministry! I have been amazed with how God is answering prayers right now. I have been on my knees asking God to bring leaders into the women's ministry who love God and have a passion for exercising their unique spiritual gifts. Let me share what God has been doing in Women's Ministry the past 3 weeks!

I have met with 3 ladies and went through their SHAPE profile, and then found them a place to grow the gifts that God has blessed them with in Women's Minstry. Yesterday I spent 5 hours with two ladies who have a heart for communication and want to help us with our print and web communication. They are overflowing with ideas for newsletters, our blog, our website and much much more and have now been empowered with the ability to take these opportunities on! I have been meeting with one woman who has had a dream of bringing kids together in a fun safe environment while allowing their parents to fellowship and date each other! She's writing her ideas down and we are going to help make her dream a reality! I have met with two of our ladies have a heart for outreach into our community and want to share the blessings we women have to offer. They are actively researching opportunities for us to share God's love! At our first leadership women, 13 ladies gathered in my home and we came up with a new name for our Women's Ministry and collaboratively created a mission statement for us to focus on. We have booked our retreat for May and it's already starting to come together. This is just the start of what has been happening in this ministry!!!

You are not going to want to miss out on our Women's Kickoff on March 16th. Block that night out on your calendar - 7pm at the church! You are going to hear some of the most amazing events and programs that are being planned - and of course see the new design for Women's Ministry. Tt will also be a fun night for us to spend some time getting to know each other - yes we have some fun ice breakers planned!

Please continue to pray for leadership of our Women's Ministry. If you have any ideas, suggestions or are ready to step up and lead, PLEASE email me! women@getlife.tv! I can't wait to hear from you!

Love and Blessings,
Lisa Hudson
your Women's Ministry Director

Finding your Sweet Spot in Women's Ministry

After Monday's Vision Planning meeting, I had a few ladies come up to me and let me know that they wanted to serve in Women's Ministry, but didn't know where. I asked them if they had by chance filled out the SHAPE profile and they hadn't. This is what led me to writing this post.

When you find something your passionate about, you start to understand that this is one of the unique qualities that God knitted inside you. When you have the opportnity to utilize the gifts he gave you, you feel like you are serving God with a purpose he had for you. I've been asked numerous times, how do you know what your purpose is? I've also been told, I don't know what my gifts and talents are. In fact quite a few ladies wrote that on the survey. Well, I'd like to help you try to figure them out!

There is an amazing tool that was created called the SHAPE profile. It asks you questions to get you to think about your Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, & Experience to help you find your “sweet spot” in ministry at LifeChurch. If you have never filled it out before, I want to encourage you to do so. It takes a little time, but anything worth while usually does. I recently took the profile again, and it helped me to understand that Leadership in Women's Ministry is a sweet spot for me! I'm glad I took it again, because maybe I wouldn't have this amazing opportunity today!

Here is a link to the SHAPE profile. http://www.getlife.tv/shape/ Click on Continue here. You can fill it out online or print out the Profile and fill it out. I would LOVE to go through it with you once you completed it. It would be an honor to help you find a "Sweet Spot" in Women's Ministry... or Children's Ministry or... who knows what God has planned for you!

Saving your Magazines!

I just received a wonderful email... Jan Grattan goes to visit Stephanie Stout in the hospital quite often and as you can well imagine, being in the hosptial at 26 weeks pregnant and having to stay until the baby is born, has to get a little lonely and boring at times. Jan was wondering if our ladies would save the magazines (or a good book) and bring them to church on weekends. She will have a basket at the connecting life table this weekend to start collect your goodies. If you would like to drop a little note to Stephanie, that would be wonderful too! I'm sure she would love to hear from you!

Women's Ministry - Vision for 2009

Next Monday evening, Jan. 26th, is our Women's Ministry Vision Planning Night! I will have the survey up on the big screen to show you the results (confidential of course) of the survey! It has been very fascinating to hear what our women really want to focus on this year. We will be talking about plans for this year, what events we really want to focus on... and hopefully start finding out who wants to be involved in coordinating these events.

We will also talk about Bible Studies, Interest groups (cooking/exercise et) retreats, conferences and more! I hope we have a great turnout for this event! Ministry Fair - Stop by the Women's Ministry Table!

This coming Sunday is LifeChurch's ministry fair. Each ministry will have a table set up to share information about their ministry. Our table will have sign ups for our current Bible Study, a sign up to RSVP to Monday evening's Vision Planning night, a sign up for leadership opportunities, our Meal's Ministry and a sign up to receive news and information from Women's Ministry (for those who don't receive emails like this one :) They are having a contest to see which ministry has the best looking table and receives the most sign ups to serve within that ministry. I hope we win!! That means I hope you'll stop by and sign up on one of our sign up sheets :)
